My philosophy
The philosophy behind my therapeutic work is inspired by kintsugi.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken things, such as porcelain, by gluing the fragments together with gold. The idea behind it is that no matter how severely mangled the object is, it can always be revived. Our fractures are made of gold.
I find kintsugi extremely inspiring for my therapeutic work because it reminds me that no matter how broken we are in life we can always put our pieces back together, and in doing so, become a different piece altogether.
Our wounds and scars are our uniqueness, our wisdom, our map for how we creatively adjust to an ever-changing existence and how we overcome the challenges it throws at us.
My logo (on top) is an artistic representation of the art of kintsugi.
There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.
